Not to be out done...

Not to be out done... here is the latest photo of our baby boy arriving in May. His mother Susan is doing great. He is only about one pound at the moment, but his heart and fingers and toes all look great. If you look closely, you can also see he shares his father's powerful chin.

Well, if you hold off a little bit, your children can share a birthday with Shaun, Andrew or I. Congrats, Rob!

YEAHHHH!!! Im so excited to hear you are going to be a dad! Will Susan keep working or stay home with him?

Susan is planning to return to work after a few months at home. It is not ideal, but that is life in Washington, DC. Thankfully, we work within a block of each other and we have some decent daycare options available. We have been contemplating a move away from DC and would welcome your prayers for guidance.

If the baby was a girl, I wanted to name her Danica - after Indy racing phenom Danica Patrick. My wife argues that we already named our dog Shelby, after legendary car designer Carroll Shelby, and that should be enough. I think Susan was praying for a boy.

Yeah, Im glad you didnt get your way with the girl name. Any boy name options?

Too bad Susan wont be staying home with him. I remember you talking about her job but I cant remember exactly what she does? I think its some kind of big important government work, right? I can understand how that would be hard to leave. Just before Ellia was born, my position at work was disolved. They kept me on doing random work but didnt have a spot for me to return to after maternity leave. It was an answer to prayer because I really had no intention of returning anyway so it all worked out and now I love being home with my kids (most of the time). :)

Suze is a Senior Legislative Aid to a member of the U.S. Senate.

I should probably do a "re-intro" piece like you so people know where we live and what we do etc. etc.

We have debated a few boy names, but nothing for sure yet. He definitely will not be named Rob, Warren, or George.

actually, i think that Warren would be pretty cool. no joke, really. i'm serious this time.

Andrew is always a good choice, too

Arik already took the name Andy. I guess I have to settle for Warren or Richard.

Actually, my son's name is Andrew Richard, so I really both names in one fell swoop. Guess you're left with Warren.
That's what you get for waiting until you have achieved some measure of financial stability before having childern - all the good names have been taken.

Arik- With as many kids as you have, I am lucky to still have Warren. Dude, its not a competition... your potent... we get it.

So, Arik, how many kids do you have? Where are you living? Who'd ya marry. Guess its been a while.
