TGIF!!!

We've come to the end of yet another workweek, so here's a question for you:

What impacted your week this week? What accomplishments "made your week"? What made this week different from others? Here's my take on it.

We were able to make the first step in buying a house. We still have a ways to go, but this week we were able to start the ball rolling in that direction. I got to speak with my niece out in New Mexico for the first time in many years, thanks to the MSN Messenger. I've had her in there for a long, long time, but never been able to catch her there, and last night finally did. I got to gain some good headway on my current job, and will be working this weekend at night on a small job, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I got to go visit with Dennis, the carpenter I used to work with and catch up with him. And, I was able to take the first step in finding out a little bit more about myself, by downloading the form and filling it out to send in with only $12.00 to get a copy of my original birth certificate and at least find out the name(s) of my original birthparents. That alone is a nervous but big step, something I've had to think about for many years. And, yes, Donna, I still owe you a story - I haven't forgotten! I'll keep you posted on this, as this develops. My sister just hers, and that is how I found out about it. She even got to find out her original birthname, which was pretty cool.

So, how was your week? Let us know! Oh, I almost forgot one thing. Yakking on this blog is always a great part of my week now, so thanks to everyone for contributing, and keep up the good work!

What impacted my week? The weather ... -15 was the low and we got a total of about 10 inches between the two storms. Yuck. The Patriots winning! This weekend will be VERY tough ... no football :(

Accomplishments? Me?? I don't really aim to accomplish anything. That way I'm never dissapointed.

Brave move on your part, Brian. I pray that you are encouraged by the news. I can't even pretend to understand your emotions when researching something like that. Best of luck ole pal.

And I agree ... the cafe always brings a smile to my face!!

Thanks, Shaun. I don't really know what to feel myself at the moment. Not knowing has always allowed the mind to dream and imagine. Knowing will change that a bit, but initially I won't find out too much. But I will find out my original birth name, at least my birth mother's name, hopefully birth father's name, any pertinent medical info, and whether or not my birth parents made provisions for me to or not to contact them when I wanted to. Due to how my adopted parents feel, I haven't searched before, and I'll give more on that story at a later date, but now that records are "unsealed" to a certain extent, I can at least find out the most basic of info without disrupting any lives. Thanks for the concerns, and I'll keep you posted as to the outcome.

I am definatley glad it is over! TGIF! Work was very hectic this week, but on the plus side, it makes me appreciate being part time even though I want to cry when I get my pay check. Wednesday was a good day because for once in my life I didn't have work or school so I actually had a day off. (of course the kids did too since it was a snow day). This week ends the first half of my first year of nursing school. I have my final exam on Monday. 0h, the joy! Of course, I could really gross Brian out by telling about my day at work, got to help the Dr. remove 3 lip lesions and change a tracheotomy tube but I know how much he loves that stuff. ;) .....Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Donna. The form is in the mail, and now it's just a wait and find out thing. My sister got hers quick, but it's a "first come first serve" thing with the forms, so I may have a longer wait than she did. But she got hers in about a week or so, so we'll see. Where's everyone else this weekend? Even Ben hasn't commented! What's with that? Get in here!!! NOW!!! Please? Pretty please?!
