Donna, last year was the year New England ruled too. Did you miss that one? (wink, wink) Just givin' you a hard time, which is wrong of me, knowing that Shaun does that all of the time, and I know how hard it must be, having Shaun as a brother, so I apologize for that last comment. Meanwhile, I'll go paint my face, yell 'til I'm hoarse, and find someone to spill some beer on. (Not really. Why waste the beer? Wink, wink.)

the Patriots are probably the best TEAM I've ever seen play professional sports. there are great teams, then there's the Patriots. they dominate like no other TEAM ever has. argue me if you will, but no team in a league with a salary cap has ever been able to dominate like they do. as bill says, it starts at the top and works all they way to every single player, coach, and assistant. they have certainly mastered a team system.

Would you agree, Shaun, that once they got rid of Bledsoe, they finally got out of their rut and made their way up? I've heard many opinions on this, but I've heard this one alot. Just curious what you think. I must admit, I'm on the side of "glad he's gone."

bledsoe is an AWESOME quarterback ... I was very sad to see him go. am i glad he's gone now? absolutely ... not because he wasn't good, but for the exact same reason you'll NEVER see Peyton win the big game. The team is built around him ... he's not a member of the team. When bledsoe went down - the TEAM stepped up. To win and be dominant these days, you must have a complete team. You can't put all your money and gameplan into one player, or even a few for that matter. Bill is more than just a great coach ... he's the ultimate personnel manager. Look what he's been able to do. Even after a few "nasty" words from Ty Law - Bill was able to talk him into suckin it up and thinking about the team - not just himself. I feel bad for bledsoe - I hope to see him mesh with a team in the future, but i doubt that will happen. Brady was the perfect fit, much like aikman was for dallas back in the 90s. You won't see either one of them at the top of the stats board, but you'll see them in the HALL because of how many super bowls they won! Unfortunately for Indy, Peyton will continue to have PHENOMINAL stats, but that doesn't win the Super Bowl.

I, personally, don't think that they played a great game against the steelers. They obviously played a better game because they won, but there were several different times that I saw that they were lucky that the steelers weren't playing well. There were times that they needed to keep their heads in the game a little better. There were times when they should have cut right instead of left. The steelers were NOT playing their best by any means. They have not won a game this season when they tried running the ball as opposed to passing.( at least that I saw) Ben R. did good considering his lack of experience, but that lack of experience showed through as the pressure made him start to crumble in the last few games. Brady on the other hand is one of my all time favorite players. He is an all american good 'ol boy. I wasn't happy that his defenders let him get sacked twice, however, his experience and commitment showed through to the end. Did you all notice that even when his teammates were celebrating with minutes left to go, how Brady kept his head in the game? I can understand how in the last two minutes or so the teams were just running the clock down to avoid injuries, blah blah blah. I don't respect that at all. Play hard to the end. Enough said.

Thanks for the input, Shaun. That was what I had gotten the impression of - not that he was a bad player, but that the team had to work around Bledsoe, and that it was good for the team that way. I can't say that I'm sad to see him gone from the Pats, just it was always Drew this and Drew that, and no focus on the team. But 'nough about that.

And Ben, that was exactly what a commentator I heard on the radio said today, not only about the Pats game yeasterday, but about the other game as well. He was saying it usually takes luck mixed in the game to get to the Superbowl - not just good team/bad team alone. Even great teams have an off day sometimes, and luck sometimes helps in that way. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
