Well, I'm on burnout. I think I've done pretty well to make it this
far and still be able to retain most of it. This has been a fantastic
week; I've learned so much, but at the same time I still have just
over a day left and my brain hurts.
We also finally got some nice weather. I talked with Wendy this
morning and they received 8 inches of white stuff. It's about 10
degrees. By contrast, it's 70 here with some very bright sun.
Last night, we all went out to some Polynesian restaurant. Can you
see me in a Polynesian restaurant? I even had to google Polynesian to find out how to spell it! They had some of the weirdest looking crap I've ever seen people eat. It was VERY difficult for me to order, as I didn't understand most of the items of the freakin menu. After consulting some of my newly acquired geek friends, I settled on some type of Tiger Shrimp blah blah blah. It turned out to be pretty good, but I had 5 grilled shrimp (medium size) over rice, with all sorts of decorative jargon and it cost 20 bucks!!! Most meals were between 25 and 35 bucks. One guy we were with order a custom made soup - 30 bucks ... FOR SOUP!!! Oh well, it was fascinating to watch them make the stuff. It was mostly a sushi bar and they were setup right in front of us making everything. Added a little culture to my wonderful life.
Hope you've all had a good week and haven't had to dig out of too much snow.

I can understand the burnout thing, and the Polynesian thing. I wouldn't know Polynesian from Chinese or Scezwan (however that's spelled) food. I like alot of Oriental food, but don't know what the differences are.
I had assumed Wendy got to go with you on these trips. Does she get to go sometimes? Most of the time? None of the time? Just curious. I'm sure it's a sacrifice being in temperate Florida while your wife shivers at home in the snow.... :) I hope she's waiting at the door for you when you get home with a spoon in hand, and won't let you in until the driveway is shovelled. ;)
Well, I don't travel very much ... she would have come on this trip had she not been pregnant. We decided not to chance being down here in florida, where they don't know how to practice medicine. So, yes, she's home, but I did make arrangements to have the driveway plowed :)
Samuel is having a VERY rough week. He's stopped eating and has been banished to the garage due to him puking. He has NEVER had an accident in the house, but apparently the stress of me not being there has gotten to him. He REALLY loves his daddy.
Ahhhh, that all makes sense, and it sounds like you have been thoughtful to boot, with driveway-plowing arrangements, so I'll take back the spoon wish and replace it with "I hope she greets you at the door with a can of Charlie-repellant and some normal, non-Polynesian food." How's that? ;)
sounds better, and you know ... I'm sick of eating out. I enjoy eating out but not for EVERY single meal! It gets very old.
Yeah, we like to eat out, but only occasionally. The last time we did was when we saw your parents. I think the less we do something like that, the more we can enjoy it, and vice versa. But now all this eating out for you this week will help you appreciate a home cooked meal when you get home, and it'll make it taste so much better when you get back. Good luck!
now you know what i went through for four years while traveling on the road. No wonder my body aged an extra 10 years from eating all that crap. I should put it that I took ten years off my life from sh*tDonald's and the such.
